Emily M. Groch

My superpower is storytelling--nothing thrills me quite like finding a great new story or insight to pursue. I started writing fiction as a child, then branched into academic research and writing while studying English during colllege and grad school. After entering corporate America, I quickly became adept at a wide range of business writing. I have experience writing SEO & GEO content, blog posts, market intelligence articles, whitepapers, arts reviews, and more. In my day job, I am a full-time content strategist and consultant. How can I help you bring your stories to life for your business or personal brand?

Industry Voices—Groch: Wave goodbye to AT&T TV Now and U-verse TV in 2020

I anticipate the deaths of U-verse TV (for new subs) and AT&T TV Now in the first half of 2020, as AT&T focuses on AT&T TV and HBO Max within its broadband markets.

Dish blamed increased competition and programming gaps for the decline. While these factors undoubtedly had an impact, it’s likely that the losses were compounded by users rolling off of Sling TV’s big Prime Day pr...

Industry Voices—Groch: As streaming video services multiply, the aggregation wars heat up

At Comperemedia, we’ve been talking with clients for the past few years about the importance of video content aggregation, as consumers demand the ability to customize their video content and, of course, desire convenience. An nScreenMedia report found that a third of Amazon Prime Video subscribers have purchased an add-on through Am...

Social media conversation exploded this week when Disney announced its $12.99/month bundle of Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu with ads. Many consumers expressed excitement at the low price point, while others balked at the idea of having to pay for sports. Still others complained that they don’t want Hulu with ads. The varying reactions to the Disney+ streaming bundle help illustrate two of the key drivers of cord cutting: saving money and subscribing only to the content you want to watch. Disney is hop...
